Every year at Ribblesdale we pick a local charity to raise funds for over the year.
In 2018 we raised £3,419.13 for Guide dogs
Well done all who helped raise a fantastic amount.

What is the prostate?

Only men have a prostate gland. The prostate is usually the size and shape of a walnut and grows bigger as you get older. It sits underneath the bladder and surrounds the urethra – the tube men urinate (pee) and ejaculate through.
Its main job is to help make semen – the fluid that carries sperm.

This year we are raising money for Guid dogs

We aim to ensure that our services are based firmly on what blind and partially sighted people want. Our research programme enables us to gather the evidence we need to ensure that our policies, campaigns and services remain relevant to people with sight loss and allow them to get out and about on their own terms.

What Is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.
In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage and eventually, respiratory failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients.
